Microsoft is gearing up to enhance its Surface devices with advanced AI capabilities, as per a report by Windows Central. According to undisclosed insiders, the upcoming Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 feature a cutting-edge neural processing unit (NPU), providing users with Intel and Arm-based alternatives.

Microsoft’s upcoming Arm-based devices are expected to be fueled by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon X chips, as reported by Windows Central. These PCs, codenamed CADMUS, are said to be tailored to support the AI capabilities that Microsoft plans to integrate into an upcoming Windows release. Additionally, according to information from Windows Central, they are anticipated to deliver enhancements in performance, battery life, and security comparable to the advancements seen with Apple’s silicon. On the other hand, the Intel version of these devices is expected to showcase the power of the company’s latest 14th-gen chips.
