Meta reduces headset and accessory prices for Quest 2

Meta recently made a significant price cut on its older Quest 2 virtual reality headset, reducing the cost by $50 permanently.

The 128GB version now sells for $249 instead of $299, while the 256GB version is priced at $299, down from $349. These new prices were initially introduced during the Black Friday sales but have now been made a permanent adjustment by Meta.

Quest 2 accessories are also available at a discounted price:

  • Quest 2 Elite Strap with battery: From $119.99 to $89.99
  • Quest 2 Elite Strap: From $59.99 to $49.99
  • Quest 2 Carrying Case: From $59.99 to $44.99
  • Quest 2 Active Pack: From $69.99 to $59.99
  • Quest 2 Fit Pack: From $49.99 to $39.99

In July 2022, Meta increased the cost of the Quest 2 headset by $100, raising it from $299.99 to $399.99. In June, when Meta released the Quest 3 for the first time, it decided to lower the price of the Quest 2 headset back to $299.99, a move aimed at potentially boosting sales.

Despite Meta offering a diverse selection of over 500 VR gaming titles, a significant development occurred last year when the company secured a deal with Roblox to launch its game on the Quest headset through the Meta Quest Store.

The reduced price of the Quest 2 could attract consumers who are considering trying out VR but are hesitant to spend $500 on the Quest 3.
