An AI Bitmoji pet is reportedly coming to Snapchat+

Snapchat is set to release a groundbreaking solution to the age-old question: “What if ChatGPT were your best friend?” The beloved social media platform, particularly popular among teenagers, is gearing up to introduce a generative AI pet. Yes, you heard it right – an AI companion for those times when you crave the perfect partner.

While Snapchat has yet to officially confirm the news, it appears that the feature is making its way to Snapchat+ subscribers. Reports from SocialMediaToday and ZD Net shed light on this potential development.

Twitter user Jonah Manzano shared screenshots that suggest the existence of this new AI feature. The technology, operating on AI principles (the specifics of which remain unclear), seems to craft a Bitmoji inspired by either a real or fictional pet.

The screenshots suggest an intriguing functionality where users can design their pet and have it accompany them on their Snapchat map. While this feature may seem novel, some may question its practical utility and wonder about its added value in the Snapchat experience.

Everything has to be AI these days, I suppose. Just add pets to the list.
