Xbox Welcomes Baldur’s Gate 3 This Year; Series S Edition Lacks Split-Screen Functionality

Developer Larian had feared that Baldur’s Gate 3 would have to be delayed until 2024, but it will be available this year.

We have some exciting news for Xbox gamers! Larian Studios’ CEO, Swen Vincke has announced that Baldur’s Gate 3 will be coming to Xbox Series X|S consoles later this year.

There is no word on an exact release date, but Larian Studios’ collaboration with Microsoft Games CEO Phil Spencer has ensured Xbox players will soon be able to experience Baldur’s Gate 3. On Xbox Series X, split-screen support will be available, enhancing the multiplayer experience. On the Xbox Series S, however, this feature will not be available.

Upon its PC launch, the game gained immense popularity, achieving the highest Metacritic score of the year and attracting 500,000 concurrent players. On September 6, 2023, Bethesda Game Studios’ highly anticipated Starfield will release, fueling even greater anticipation as the adventure gears up for its PlayStation 5 release. 

With PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions offering online co-op and cross-progression functions, players can seamlessly continue their heroic quests on their favorite consoles while maintaining the progress made on PC.
