Apple’s vision is to create a comprehensive destination within the TV app, offering a wide variety of content, including shows, movies, rentals, and more. This aligns with what iTunes had offered for years before the streaming revolution reshaped the industry. It’s noteworthy that Apple’s decision to raise prices is consistent with recent increases made by other major players in the industry, like Netflix and Disney.
