Passwordless passkey now available on WhatsApp for Android

WhatsApp rolls out passwordless passkey feature for Android users

WhatsApp for Android introduces passwordless passkey feature, enabling users to unlock accounts using face, fingerprint, or pin security. Tested in beta, the feature offers 40% faster access and enhanced security, but an iOS version is not yet available.

WhatsApp has introduced a passwordless passkey feature for all Android users.

WhatsApp previously required two-factor authentication for security reasons. WhatsApp now allows users to unlock and access their accounts using their device’s face, fingerprint, or pin security.

The feature has been tested in WhatsApp’s beta channel. It is now available to a wider audience. An iOS version of a similar feature is not yet available.
